A Quieter Week Between the Vines
After several weeks of weddings, markets, tastings, and events, things were a little quieter around the winery this week. And if you ask Jessie, she wasn’t complaining!
Of course, a quiet week isn’t necessarily what you hope for in the middle of summer, but we decided to take advantage of it. It gave us a chance to catch up on some of those behind-the-scenes projects that always seem to get pushed to the bottom of the list when the winery is busy.
The rain has certainly been keeping us on our toes, too. We’ve had plenty of it lately—maybe a little more than we’d like at this stage for the grapes. Farming has a way of reminding you that Mother Nature is always in charge. We can’t control the weather, so we’ll keep tending to the vines, making adjustments where we can, and working with whatever she gives us.
BRUSCHETTA IS BACK!! This has been a guest favorite and I’m happy to we were able to get it back on the menu again.
By Sunday, things picked back up with live music from the Brushfire Bandits featuring Daniel Eric. It was a great afternoon of music, wine, and familiar faces and a nice way to finish out the weekend.
We also welcomed and trained some new members of our winery team this weekend. There’s always a learning curve when you’re new, and we’re thankful for the staff who take the time to help each other along.
And while this week may have given us a little breathing room, fall will be here before we know it.
Harvest Fest is coming October 22–25, and we’re already working behind the scenes on everything we have planned. There will be plenty of reasons to make a trip to the winery, and we’ll be sharing more as we get closer—so stay tuned!
Sometimes a slower week is exactly what you need to catch up, regroup, and get ready for what’s coming next. Something tells me it won’t stay quiet around here for long.
Cheers,
Judy
