From Celebrations to Harvest
Well, so much for that quiet week!
Things picked right back up around the winery, and this week seemed to have a little bit of everything—from celebrations and live music to plenty of work happening out in the vineyards.
Saturday was especially busy as we welcomed guests for two showers and a birthday party, all while keeping the winery moving and enjoying live music throughout the day. We love seeing different groups gathered around the winery, each celebrating something of their own. One table may be welcoming a new baby, another celebrating a birthday, and just a few steps away friends are simply spending their Saturday together over a bottle of wine.
Sunday brought another afternoon of live music and another chance to welcome guests out to the winery. Summer weekends certainly keep us moving, but seeing the winery full of people enjoying themselves makes the busy days worth it.
And while plenty was happening at the winery, there was just as much happening among the vines.
We planted new vines in the vineyard here at the winery, while work continued at our other vineyards getting nets in place to protect the grapes as they ripen. And perhaps the biggest sign that summer is beginning to wind down—we’ve already started harvesting some of our white varietals!
Harvest is always an exciting time. After months of watching the vines grow, tending to them, worrying about the weather, and doing everything we can to help them along, it’s rewarding to finally see some of that fruit make its way from the vineyard to the winery. There’s still plenty of work ahead of us, but we’re officially getting started.
Through all of it, we have to give a huge thank you to our staff. Between private events, busy tasting room days, live music, vineyard work, and everything else that happens behind the scenes, they continue to step up wherever they’re needed. We truly couldn’t do what we do without them, and we’re incredibly thankful for the team we have around us.
It looks like that little breather last week came at just the right time. Harvest season is beginning, the calendar is filling up, and we’re ready to see what the next few weeks bring.
Cheers,
Judy
